SODIUM DICHLOROISOCYANURATE

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (DCCNA), is an organic compound, the formula is C3Cl2N3NaO3, at room temperature as white powder crystals or particles, chlorine smell.

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is a commonly used disinfectant with strong oxidizability. It has a strong killing effect on various pathogenic microorganisms such as viruses, bacterial spores, fungi and so on. It is a kind of bactericide with wide application range and high efficiency.

Physical and chemical properties:

White crystalline powder, with strong chlorine smell, containing 60% ~ 64.5% effective chlorine. It is stable and stored in hot and humid area. The effective chlorine content decreases by only 1%. Easily soluble in water, solubility of 25%(25℃). The solution is weakly acidic, and the pH of 1% aqueous solution is 5.8 ~ 6.0. The pH changes little as the concentration increases. Hypochlorous acid is produced in water, and its hydrolysis constant is 1×10-4, which is higher than chloramine T. The stability of aqueous solution is poor, and the loss of effective chlorine accelerates under UV Chemicalbook. Low concentration can quickly kill a variety of bacterial propagules, fungi, viruses, hepatitis virus has special effects. It has the characteristics of high chlorine content, strong bactericidal action, simple process and cheap price. The toxicity of sodium dichloroisocyanurate is lower, and the bactericidal effect is better than that of bleaching powder and chloramine-T. Chlorine fuming agent or acid fuming agent can be made by mixing metal reducing agent or acid synergist with potassium permanganate and sodium dichloroisocyanurate dry powder. This kind of fumigant will produce strong bactericidal gas after ignition.

Product features:

(1) Strong sterilization and disinfection capacity. The effective chlorine content of pure DCCNa is 64.5%, and the effective chlorine content of high-quality products is more than 60%, which has strong disinfection and sterilization effect. At 20ppm, the sterilization rate reaches 99%. It has strong killing effect on all kinds of bacteria, algae, fungi and germs.

(2) Its toxicity is very low, the median lethal dose (LD50) is as high as 1.67g/kg (the median lethal dose of trichloroisocyanuric acid is only 0.72-0.78 g/kg). The use of DCCNa in disinfection and disinfection of food and drinking water has long been approved at home and abroad.

(3) A wide range of application, the product can not only be used in food and beverage processing industry and drinking water disinfection, cleaning and disinfection of public places, in industrial circulating water treatment, civil household sanitation disinfection, disinfection of aquaculture industry is also widely used.

(4) The effective chlorine utilization rate is high, and the solubility of DCCNa in water is very high. At 25℃, every 100mL water can dissolve 30g DCCNa. Even in aqueous solution with water temperature as low as 4°C, DCCNa can quickly release all the effective chlorine it contains, making full use of its disinfection and bactericidal effect. Other solid chlorine-containing products (except chloro-isocyanuric acid) have much lower chlorine values than DCCNa due to low solubility or slow release of the chlorine contained in them.

(5) Good stability. Due to the high stability of triazine rings in chloro-isocyanuric acid products, DCCNa properties are stable. Dry DCCNa stored in a warehouse has been determined to have a loss of less than 1% of available chlorine after 1 year.

(6) The product is solid, can be made into white powder or particles, convenient packaging and transportation, but also convenient for users to choose and use.

Product Application:

DCCNa is a kind of efficient disinfection and fungicide, with high solubility in water, long-lasting disinfection ability and low toxicity, so it is widely used as drinking water disinfectant and household disinfectant. DCCNa hydrolyzes hypochlorous acid in water and can replace hypochlorous acid in some cases, so it can be used as bleach. Moreover, because DCCNa can be produced on a large scale and the price is low, it is widely used in many industries:

1) wool anti-shrinkage treatment agent;

2) Bleaching for textile industry;

3) Sterilization and disinfection of aquaculture industry;

4) Civil sanitation disinfection;

5) Industrial circulating water treatment;

6) Cleaning and disinfection of food industry and public places.

Preparation method:

(1) Dichlorylisocyanuric acid neutralization (chloride method) cyanuric acid and caustic soda according to 1:2 molar ratio into aqueous solution, chlorinated to dichloroisocyanuric acid, slurry filtration to obtain dichloroisocyanuric acid filter cake can be fully washed with water, remove the cake sodium chloride, dichloroisocyanuric acid. The wet dichloroisocyanurate was mixed with water in the slurry, or put into the mother liquor of sodium dichloroisocyanurate, and the neutralization reaction was carried out by dropping caustic soda at the molar ratio of 1:1. The reaction solution is cooled, crystallized and filtered to get wet sodium dichloroisocyanurate, which is then dried to get powdered sodium dichloroisocyanurate or its hydrate.

(2) Sodium hypochlorite method is firstly made of caustic soda and chlorine gas reaction to generate sodium hypochlorite solution with appropriate concentration. Chemicalbook can be divided into two kinds of process with high and low concentration according to the different concentration of sodium hypochlorite solution. Sodium hypochlorite reacts with cyanuric acid to produce dichloroisocyanuric acid and sodium hydroxide. In order to control the pH value of the reaction, chlorine gas can be added to make sodium hydroxide and chlorine gas to produce sodium hypochlorite continue to participate in the reaction, so as to make full use of the reaction raw materials. But because chlorine gas is involved in the chlorination reaction, the control requirements on the raw material cyanuric acid and the operation conditions of the reaction are relatively strict, otherwise it is easy to occur nitrogen trichloride explosion accident; In addition, inorganic acid (such as hydrochloric acid) can also be used to neutralize the method, which does not involve chlorine gas directly in the reaction, so the operation is easy to control, but the use of raw material sodium hypochlorite is not complete.

Storage and transportation conditions & Packaging:

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is packaged in woven bags, plastic buckets or cardboard buckets: 25KG/ bag, 25KG/ bucket, 50KG/ bucket.

Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. Keep out of direct sunlight. The package must be sealed and protected from moisture. It should be stored separately from combustible materials, ammonium salts, nitrides, oxidants and alkalis, and should not be mixed. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain the leakage.
